Frequently Asked Questions
1. Who is this workshop for?
These online sessions are open to all high-school bassists preparing for the 2025–2026 TMEA All-State Orchestra auditions, from first-time auditionees to veterans refining their skills.
2. How do I know which region to select?
Your “region” is the same one your school district uses for TMEA. If you’re unsure, check with your orchestra director or email me at jlbastow.music@gmail.com and I’ll help you find the right group.
3. Do I have to attend every session?
No—each session stands on its own, so you can choose the dates and time that corresponds with your TMEA Region number. Keep in mind that because we don’t record, live attendance gives you the best chance for real-time feedback and Q&A.
4. What if I miss a session?
Since we don’t record, we encourage you to plan ahead. If you can’t make it, email me after the date and I’ll try to place you in a workshop session that has not already happened and/or has space available.
5. What do I need to join?
Zoom installed on a reliable device (preferably not phone)
Stable internet connection
Quiet, well-lit practice space
Your bass, bow and printed music ready to play
